4 Months Shy of a Year

Well…… if I had just waited another 4 months it would have been a whole year since I posted anything on here – - – not good! So, I am going to try and get back into it (emphasis on the word TRY). I know that this is not an “up to date” picture, but it is one of my favorites from our vacation.

Now, here is an “up to date” photo….

Oooooops! You can’t see their faces! Do you know how much easier it is to take a “good” picture when the kids are not facing you??? Practically every picture is perfect! I love this technique! and… By the way, the boys hands are not in their pocket to make a “cute posed picture” – - – that is purely for safety reasons. When you put the two of them that close I definately want their hands to be contained – no pushing each other out of the window sill or anything like that… now if I could just find something for them to do with their feet!

Ok, here you go…. this is for real, an up to date picture in which you can see their faces…..

Yep, you can see their faces, but you can’t hear their conversation….

Patrick: “I am telling you, that is the last time….. Don’t touch me again”

Clark: “Really?? You think so??? What are you going to do about it? Mom said your hands have to stay in your pockets!”

Ok, here is another one….. you can almost see all of their faces.

Patrick is all done; Clark is all done and this is only 3 pictures into the “session”. You would think that they would be used to this by now. I probably took like 100,000 pictures of them (last year).

Granna’s Pool

The kids absolutely love going to Granna’s pool…. it is not Grandaddy’s pool, just Granna’s pool. I think that the girls would stay and play all day long! The boys love it also. It took a bit for Clark to get warmed up to it, but after he did – look out! and Patrick, he is just a wild man in the water! The girls love to “go in the deep end” and “swim”…… I am so glad that everyone loves the water!

and, they also love snack time! Granna always brings good snacks – fruit and juice boxes! What could be better?!

The Water Hole

You might be a redneck if: your kids get excited about putting on their swim suits and going to the “water hole”!

The kids absolutely love coming to the water hole and playing. Sometimes they will put their feet in it when we take a walk, but the best thing ever is when Gdaddy and Daddy take them down there and they can get all wet!

It is spring water and feels like it is barely above freezing, but it doesn’t seem to bother the girls at all!

Fishing

Once again, I know this isn’t a great picture, but the girls went fishing with Gdaddy and this is what they brought home. Of course, they fished for a bit and then played in the water and then fished and then played in the water. They had a great time and came home exhausted!

Fun Times

This has been the hottest summer we have had in a long time – at least it seems that way to me! So, when it is hot, what else is there to do, but play with water? The kids love filling up their buckets, watering the grass, the flowers, each other, etc. They also found that it is great to fill up the wagon and then they have a “swimming pool” (not to be confused with Granna’s swimming pool).

They even brough out some of their bath toys! They love it and it sure is it nice to be able to sit outside and watch them have so much with water!

Word to the wise, don’t let your boys upstairs to play with the girls while they are playing dress-up!

The Nest

I know that this photo is blurry….. sorry!

This is a picture of a bird nest that is in a fence post right around the house. The kids checked on it every day. Counted the eggs several times and day and waited and waited for them to hatch. We never saw any of them hatch, but we did get to see the baby birds. The kids continually checked on them and watched them grow until the day they checked and all of them had learned to fly……

Picking Strawberries

We went to pick strawberries at the end of May. The kids had an absolute blast! Jen and I (on the other hand) were completely worn out….. it was the hottest day of the year (I am sure), the kids (my kids) thought that they could go anywhere in the patch – it didn’t really matter to them who was picking in that row – and to top it all off….. my kids didn’t understand that they were supposed to pick the strawberries and then put them in the box, they just picked and ate! We didn’t get alot of strawberries that day – at least in the box. I am sure glad that they don’t do a weight before and after on the kids!!!!! One time I looked and Clark was sitting down, in the row, eating right out of the box…… Jen and I might go by ourselves next year!

Moving Up

He is now a “red belt”.

Pretty soon he will be breaking boards and cinder blocks…. and girls hearts……
